Kirk the Clydesdale

Well that's the RHET ACI Kinnordy Estate day over for another year.

170 Dundee kids spent the whole day at the Estate and thank goodness the weather was good to us. As usual our volunteers excelled themselves and Kirk the Clydsedale was one of them (although he wouldn't stay still for me to take a better picture of him). Kirk comes up from Camperdown Park every year and demonstrates log pulling at the set where the kids also see the estate sawmill in operation. They also pond dip with the Angus Council Rangesr, learn about trees with forestry experts, meet ferrets and gundogs on the gamekeeping set and learn about crops and food chains on the farming and wildlife set - an extremely busy day!!

I think in some ways I have the easy option as organiser, I just had to run around and make sure the 21 volunteers have got what they need to do their jobs and the escorts are managing to keep to groups moving around to time - still knackered though!
