Nature, red in tooth and claw

Neil got home from work today and was sitting having a cuppa, when he noticed some rather unusual urban wildlife in the back garden. A quick sprint upstairs to get the camera resulted in this shot of a sparrowhawk with its lunch - not sure which of our local nesting birds this was, but it was certainly tempting enough for a magpie to show up and try to face off against the hawk for it. Needless to say, the hawk won the day ...
