Hartlington Rakes
Out on the bike today, somewhat more leisurely than my last ride in the Etape du Dales, and much better weather. Took a climb up Hartlington Rakes and loved this buttercup field with the view across to Burnsall Fell and Elbolton Hill. Not easy to do the landscape justice. This is such an unfrequented road, even by Dales standards of quietness. I often find myself up here when I haven't got training in mind. Definitely a spot to saunter through rather than speed!
