Barging Past
My friend was telling me that it was traditional for narrowboat owners to paint pictures of castles and flowers on their barges. The flowers were because they didnt have any gardens so they had to improvise views of gardens. And the castles were...well, she didnt know. Maybe because they didnt have a traditional 'house' to call their castle. I dunno.
As if by magic, right on queue, a couple of 'traditional' looking narrowboaters, with a classic looking boat pulled up alongside us with their doors open to reveal said flowers & castles.
Oh my friend is sooo clever (andI know there is a good chance she will read this at some time).
