Me and Matilda

Attended a Kangaroo Care Workshop put on by Fauna Rescue today. Although I have no plans to look after abandoned Joey's, I was interested to learn more about their care.

They require intensive care for quite a few months and are very susceptible to illness in captivity and round the clock care required for the first few months. As much work as young children. At least they don't scream.

I looked after Matilda in her artificial pouch during lunch. Very shy and timid animal but oh so cute.
