Waterfall in spate

Since election day it has rained and rained and rained. May is usually one of the best months in the West Highlands, but so far it has been a washout, unlike April which was unusually warm and dry.

Yesterday it rained solidly for more than 12 hours, and today there are heavy showers with brief intervals of sunshine. Our stream above the house is in spate and when I went up this morning to the small waterfalls I noticed that it had broken its banks at some stage over the past 24 hours.

Can we have the summer back, please ?
