Calm Before The Attack
This was the night before we left for a 2week trip to UK, it was pitch black in the henhouse. All chooks and chicks tucked up and cosy in their fresh clean straw......well fed, well watered.Joseph, a neighbour had his instructions on feeding etc to be started the next morning as we were leaving at 6am. By the next morning Monsier Renard had launched his attack and poor Joseph found 3 of my chicks lying dead.I have yet to find out how many he took in total. This is the first time the fox has managed to get in, it must have young nearby. I just hope he doesn't come back, but he is bound to try. Aaaaaarrggghhhhh! If only I had shut the big gate........
