The Aust Ferry

Times change.

Things move on.

Nostalgia is ever present.

This is the remains of the landing stage for the Aust Ferry.

It used to look like this, as recently as 1964!.

Going to Wales would have been a real adventure then.

Imagine the excitement of going away and pulling up at this jetty, car loaded with holiday essentials.

I still find going across the bridges exciting. Wales definitely has a distinct character.

There were plans to restore the ferry but I get the impression they have stalled.

And so it seems to be.

The benefit of the recent past is that it's all recorded in photographs.

What would you do with a restored ferry?

Mrs RB back from her 'girlie' weekend and we're glad to see her. We think things have been tickety boo but the careful eye of Mrs RB has spotted several household rule infringements.

No, it's not okay to feed them Monster Munch and Coke all weekend...!

Even Bob Dylan used the ferry, although he had to hang around.
