The North Sea!!!!!

Driving down the motorway from Edinburgh to York in the UK, I did not expect to see the North Sea. It was an absolutely thrilling surprise (remember, I'm half sea creature ;-0) when I rounded a curve that led me over a hill and here is all this beautiful ocean stretching into the distance. I pulled off the road as soon as I could, which happened to be the sea walk at Torness.

Some of you may not buy into my enthusiasm, but this was a high point of my adventure. I was able to scramble down to the shingle and confirm that the water is frigid!! It isn't called the North Sea for no reason......
