Pre-monsoon
Possibly to most terrifying road journey in my life ever. At one point our bus-and logically following, us were almost pulverised between a lorry and an overhanging rockface as our driver decided an uphill blind hairpin bend would be the best place to overtake a massive lorry who's driver clearly thought his manlinees was severely compromised should a lowly tourist bus pass him.
Thankfully the 350 foot ravine was on the left and we were overtaking on the right.
Oh what japes!
There are bus crashes with multiple fatalities every day in Nepal.
Our route followed the Trisuii river back to the Kathmandu valley- it was one of those 'I can't look at the massive ravine drop on my left but I can't take my eyes off it either, especially on hairpin bend' moments.
Many people were working the fields; the anticipation for the rains was palpable.
