Snow rage...
One just doesn't know where to put it anymore!
"Mr. Tremblay, the psychologist, said some people feel trapped and powerless by the incessant snowfalls. Snow banks were piled so high outside his girlfriend's house on Sunday morning that the couple couldn't see out the windows, he said.
'I like winter, and even I'm completely fed up,' he said, adding that the weather is all everyone is talking about. 'Some people get depressed. Others feel more aggressive. And because you already feel fragile, it just takes a spark to explode, and you lose control.
'It's like a dam. The energy keeps rising and rising, and at a certain point it just bursts.' "
Snow rage is a new term here.
Along with road and air rage, it is the manifestation of a collective weariness with the sheer quantity of snow we have had to deal with this year. The fact that the thaw has been 'officially delayed' doesn't help tempers any.
"The most serious case unfolded on Sunday morning, as the city started to dig out from a 42-centimetre snowfall that left many homes obscured behind walls of white stuff.
A 63-year-old man, incensed that snow was being blown onto his property by a woman working for a snow-clearing company next door, approached the employee. Police say he started to insult her and warned her to stop.
The 25-year-old woman apologized and the man left, but appeared at the doorway of his garage holding a 12-gauge shotgun in full view, Constable Dion said.
'The woman felt threatened and called police,' the officer said.
The man was arrested and released with a promise to appear in court, and will be charged with negligent use of a firearm."
