Fixing a hole where the rain gets in

We're fixing a big hole we made in living room wall, over the next couple of days, but it's started raining for the first time since I can't remember when and the rain get in.

It's quite exciting on the renovations front this week as we need to get the hole fixed up with the new garden doors before the weekend - when we're planning to go away - so leaving a big hole in the wall wouldn't be at all good.

Tomorrow we have to put up a small scaffold and hoist a new stone lintel in over the big hole to hold the wall up (well not strictly as there's a steel lintel in already to do that, the stone is just to look pretty). Should be fun as it weighs a ton.
