Arghhhhhhh

6 hours to get home this evening!!!

I arrived at Waverley Train Station this evening at 4.30 just as all trains were cancelled to everywhere. Road bridge was also shut, as was the Motorway to Glasgow, and the Stirling road was also blocked. Looked like no escape from Edinburgh.

Luckily self preservation mode kicked in rather than blip mode, and I ran to the Bus station before the masses had the same idea. I actually managed to get on a bus, although by the time it got through all the delays and snarls and i walked from Rosyth to Inverkeithing to pick up my car the trains had started and cars were being let over the road bridge.

Typical: All the way on the bus i thought about walking up to the bridge approach when i got to the car and taking tonight's blip of the closed signs and no cars. So, this shot will have to do instead.

I could have a long rant about useless First Slothrail and FETA, but too tired. I suspect there will be a heated debate and lots of ranting in the office tomorrow from the rest of the team which i can add my venting to.

Mrs P & kids had a powercut at home until 8.30, and part of the garden fence (not the bits I built i have to add) was blown off. I'll need to fix that tomorrow night when i get home. Polytunnel seems to have stood up to the 80 mph winds no problem, which is more than can be said for some of the very old trees in the village which fell, blocking the road and having to get sawn up and cleared.

Hopefully it's all calm overnight and back to normal in the morning.
