Dai Urnal-Instants

One year on...

...and we're still protesting on behalf of those residents of Fairfield Park and Larkhall who, for some unaccountable - and I choose that adjective advisedly - reason continue to wish to meet with each other and visit their respective communities within Bath, and who are too frail, vulnerable or otherwise unable to walk up/down the steep hill or drive themselves.

The previous administration was not unaccountably deaf to our pleas. That is, they were deaf but they have been held to account. The Conservatives running Bath as the largest party on Bath and North East Somerset council suffered losses in May's elections as a result of failing to listen to residents on this and many other issues. At the full council meeting that took place after our protest, the Liberal Democrats took control of the council with the support of the five Labour councillors elected in May.

Bravo Zulu, Paul Crossley and your team!

Hopefully, they will be more amenable to championing the interests of local residents against a corporation that, being head-quartered in Aberdeen, is far too remote from its customers in Bath, and which, in stating to them that "it is not in business to run a public service", does not recognise the public service ethic.

Perhaps then we will see a reasonable frequency of bus service re-instated and Pamela Galloway, Linda Patterson and the other stalwart and unsung local campaigners can get on with their lives.
