Today began another elongated logging session of the Longyearbyen CO2 projects aptly known 'Drill Hole 4.' Or by its rather uninspired nickname 'DH4.'

Not quite the most interesting picture, but the camera gave up on battery half way through the day.

However it is the first I have ever taken through a magnifier so I'm quite pleased that between shivers I managed to focus this.

And for the scientist in you, This is a Pyrite deposit in a carbonaceous cement (removed with liberal quantities of 36% HCL :P ) that can be fount in small lens' within the siltstone horizons of the core.
