I think it was that well known group - The Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band who sang about 'Winchester Cathedral...oh doh dee oh doh!' back in the 60s. Well, here is my Auntie in that same cathedral and she really liked it. She felt the atmosphere from the moment she walked in it and thoroughly enjoyed looking all over it.

I also like it, although Canterbury Cathedral is still my Number One, I have spent so many hours wandering around it..but that's another story.

Winchester is beautiful and every time I see the structure of a building like this I am filled with admiration for the archhitects and builders..how did they do it? Jane Austen is buried here and there are many items devoted to her memory.

We are taking my Auntie back to Kent tomorrow and I really hope her stay with us has done her some good, I think it has. She certainly seems more relaxed and will, hopefully be able to cope at home a little better for a while. Her husband has recently been put into a Home as he has dementia. He had become such a worry and at 80 with quite a few health problems herself she simply couldn't manage at home. It is such an awful situation to be faced with. the man she knew 'died' a long time ago and yet he is still physically fairly strong. It is a cruel disease.

Thank goodness none of us know what we will have to face in the future! Sorry to be gloomy.....it is the weekend, I hope it is a good one for you all.
