Junction Hotel, Rangiora
The original Junction Hotel was erected in 1868. It was replaced in 1880 by the existing structure which was designed by T.S. Lambert in simplified Italian Palazzo style, and built by W.J. Williams of brick and Oamaru stone facings. The hotel's original parapet and balcony were destroyed - ironically enough - in the Christmas Day Earthquake of 1922. These days, this grand old building is the home of Robbie's Bar & Bistro. Bon appétit!
