Edward Chambré Hardman

Drove over to Liverpool today and met with our chums Gina and Cherri. We'd booked a guided tour of 59 Rodney Street, the former home and studios of Edward Chambré Hardman, a leading photographer in Liverpool who documented the city through fifty years of change up to his death in 1988. The premises and archive of over 140,000 photographs are now in the care of the National Trust. It was worth the visit but there are only a handful of images on view. Much more emphasis is placed on the business and the home-life of Hardman and his wife. This is just one of the many cluttered rooms used as a photo studio.
