The Mighty Metallic Mermaid of Cumbernauld

Since they got rid of the wild animals (and I mean wolves, bison, lynx etc., not the neds swilling buckfast in the bushes ;-) ) at Palacerigg Country Park, Cumbernauld hasn't had much to make it noteworthy to tourists or passers by.

Enter Aria, the magnificent 10m high mermaid by Andy Scott next to the A80.

Today, thanks to lack of seat belts in the truck and (the fact that I wasnt driving at the time :-0 ) I managed a snap of her through the murky windscreen ... stunning, iconic ... certainly makes Cumbernauld memorable!
