Dr Peggy Judge
Dr Rob Liddell and his wife went as missionaries to China in 1924. A couple of years later their daughter Margaret was born. Her earliest memory was of the family escaping downriver while being pursued by Chinese bandits.
At the age of 6 she was sent back to the UK to Walthamstow Hall and independent Girls' School in Kent.
In course of time she qualified as a doctor and worked for many years in West Lothian as a GP. In later life she married Dr Tom Judge, a Consultant Gerontologist.
She was the niece of Eric Liddell of Chariots of Fire fame.
Peggy died last night - a remarkable lady and good friend who will be sorely missed.
