Given that she's not eaten that much and is in a fair amount of pain I'm guessing, Katie did pretty well last night, up twice but back to bed with little protest. She was up at 5.30 but I can handle that. Keeping her up later doesnt achieve anything, so I put her down fairly early still, get my evening's doings done earlier.
We took Emma and her mum to Montessori, as always Katie was excited when she got in the car and they chattered/babbled the whole way there. There were sand trays out today, which is what Katie spent most of the morning doing. She went to a jigsaw table quite a lot - she's enjoying the tray jigsaws now, although is much slower when the picture isnt under the piece to match. About 15 minutes before song time, Katie took herself to the singing area and sat down. "Sing" she said to me and wouldnt move until it was time for singing. As soon as we started the songs she was so bouncy and excited. She did the actions for Miss Polly, which was the first time she'd done that.
We dropped Emma home and came here for some lunch. Katie was not long ready for her sleep. Whilst she was asleep there was quite a heavy rainfall, so I decided we'd combine getting our jobs done with a spot of puddle jumping. However, we set off to the bank and it really really threw it down. Thankfully, I'd put her in the buggy to do the jobs, so she sat and sheltered in there. It began to hail then thunder and lightening. She was fascinated by it all! She stood in the library windows watching for a long time.
Once it had let up to almost stopping, we left the library and it took us nearly an hour to do the 5 or 10 minute walk home. She found the biggest, deepest puddles/mini ponds (our streets here flood a lot in heavy rain) and splashed in every one. She loved it!
