At Day's End

One of my favorite spots is but minutes from home. It's an old fishing village, it's heyday long past. There is still activity - a few fishing boats, excursion boats, some restaurants, seafood stores, and an ice cream stand - a 'must see' tourist stop.

Years ago, rumor has it that an old entertainer (Jimmy Durante) spent a night in a local boarding house and was so impressed, from that point forward, closed his act with "Goodnight Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are." Mrs. C apparently ran the boarding house.
