Arthur Avenue

A friend, who is also a keen cook, and I have started taking trips to different areas of New York which are known for particular ethnic cuisines. We started off with Chinatown in Manhattan but are now venturing to the outer boroughs and have visited Astoria, where we had an excellent meal at Taverna Kyclades and Jackson Heights were we planned on having Indian but ended up having Columbian.

Today we went to Arthur Avenue, home of Italian food in the Bronx. We had an excellent meal at Zero Otto Nove, then went shopping at all the various delis. I got a bit carried away with the sausages, cured meats, anchovies, capers and parmesan at Teitel Brothes and the fresh mozzarella at Casa Della Mozzarella Deli.

Came home and cooked a very tasty meal.
