Bruce and Wallace

Years ago I saw a photo like this one (but better!) in a book and I was really taken with it. It appealed to me because of the fact that these two monuments, commemorating the two most iconic men in Scottish history, could be seen side by side, though near and far.

Today we visited Stirling and walked around the Top of the Town. Finding ourselves here, I tried to capture the image that had so entranced me previously, but I wasn't happy with it - the Wallace Monument seemed like the tiniest blip next to Big Robert, and I wasn't convinced it would show up well when viewed. However, on looking at it on screen rather than on the back of the camera, it's turned out clearer than I thought.
