Natural beauty

We had a disagreement in the household this morning. Mr Fluff brought this bird in and dropped it proudly and quietly in Roland's lap. There was no mess, no flapping about, no cat-growls. The noise came from Roland's shouts of horror. Yes, it's distressing when cats bring home 'gifts' but they are cats. This is what they do.

My reaction was: "Oh dear. At least it looks like it was a quick, clean kill. Look at those feet! Those colours! Aren't they beautiful. Hang on, I'll go get my camera."

I think Rol would have preferred it if I had just scooped up the bird and disposed of it, without taking advantage of what - to me - really was a gift from the murderous Mr Fluff.
