Gate

I love old wooden farmyard gates but they are becoming increasingly hard to come across as the farmers have replaced them all with aluminium ones (less maintenance). So you are lucky if you can find an abandoned one. This one is behind the studio of sculptress Lucianne Lasalle near Thornhill.
We had a great day visiting artists studios which are open for the Spring Fling festival which is held here every year and Kate bought me a print for an early birthday present from Sarah Keast, whose work we both love. We then went on to the studio of an artist friend, Kathleen Woods, who was kind enough to provide tea and cake.
