Got rid of 99% of drop shadows, darkened the blue. Now it looks slightly more professional, still isn't live yet though. I've learnt quite a lot about code structure by doing this, and how important it is to comment code, especially late at night when you're likley to forget what badly written and seemingly useless code does.
