Nothing like the beach

.. to bring some peace and calmness.

It's been ages since we took a walk on the local beach. Today was chilly (it's winter here) but the sun was shining and there was virtually no wind. A decent walk followed by a good breakfast. The surf was huge from the recent storm. A few surfers out -- not me. I seem to have either given up or just am scared of the cold water.

This is the mouth of the Goukamma river that we drive past on the way to the beach. It is normally closed up but the heavy rains opened the mouth up to the sea. I read that the small river is a breeding paradise for several sea fishes, so I presume the fish large enough to head out to sea did so now, and those fish waiting to come in and have their offspring are entering the river. We did see a large fish eagle (I guess they are all large) circling above the river so I guess it is a good feeding time as well.
