Roses Are Red

The roses over my front door only last a couple of weeks so I thought I better take a picture of them whilst I could.

Im thinking of cutting them down because they aren't that great so that I can get access to re-do the pointing. Its an old house (about 1850) and I think the mortar between the bricks is original. It seems to be about 90% sand. Touch it with your finger and it comes away (so dont touch it with your finger then I hear you say).

Its bank holiday Sunday today and I am on a mission to do as little as possible (not something Im very good at).
