There's (Almost) Been A Murder

It all started last night.

At bedtime my daughter announced that her mobile phone had fallen out of her pocket and into the toilet. Bad enough but as she is going on the school trip tonight it had the potential to be a disaster. After she went to bed hubby tried to dry it out and we left it overnight.

This morning it still wouldn't switch on so various old phones were retrieved from drawers and cupboards. Passwords were forgotten, chargers were not to be found. Everyone was grumpy. Suddenly out of the blue her phone decided to start up again. Thank goodness.

Next we heard an accusatory scream. She had left her retainer out to take with her but someone had thrown it in the bin. Fortunately it was lying on the top so could easily be taken out and cleaned.

All is well that ends well. We have packed the car and are getting ready to take her to the school. An exciting week for her visiting the battlefields in Belgium and France and a strange week for us without her.
