Silver Falls
It has been raining almost our entire camping trip. Everything is soaked to the point of not even being comfortable to be outside. We saw a small window of decent weather around 11am this morning and so we headed out to make the trek to see as many falls as possible. I have to say I was incredible shocked and impressed by our boys, ages 6 and 9. We saw 8 of the 10 falls and walked 6.1 miles. The falls were all beautiful and I think even the boys took in the power and beauty of seeing them. We were hiking for over 5 hours and managed to get dry weather and even some sun breaks. It was incredible though, we returned back and stepped foot under the awning of our motorhome when the skies opened up and the HEAVY rain, hail and thunder hit and temps suddenly dropped 10 degrees. They are right when they say "Timing is everything". I can not imagine being on that hike with that type of weather.
I was extremely dissapointed to say the least when we came home and I downloaded my pictures though. I was snapping pictures like a mad woman and really thought they were coming out ok. I did many with water that was slowed down and then many landscape pictures, I thought "I nailed this, I really did good on this". Until I downloaded my pictures and found many were overexposed, blurry, dark, grainy etc. Oh the joys of being an ameteur - UGH. Although there were some other pictures of non water falls I thought were better, I figured I should use one of my halfway decent pictures of fall since that was the point of this entire camping trip.
Needless to say I will be looking into some photography classes soon :)
