Blondin

What a horrible rainy day. Was planning on going walking in Derbyshire but ended up going to the cinema instead. On the way home noticed this statue.
Not the best of images as we were in the middle of a dual carriageway so I just had to stick my head out of the window to take the shot & hope for the best.

The statue remembers Charles Blondin the 19th century stuntman. In 1873 Blondin traversed Edgbaston Reservoir on a tightrope. The commission was installed as part of the Ladywood regeneration project in 1992. The artist is Richardsoon of Floodgate Studios.

Off to work shortley for a night shift:((
