Timeless....
Yesterday, on arriving from office, i saw my younger son playing with his childhood friends some version of tennis-ball cricket, in the compound. The in-between space was a small alley between garage rolling shutters to the fencing gate. They have folding steel chair as stumps. Very funny but very interesting rules to make the game very exciting in that limited space like one drop catch, a straight shot crossing fence is out. Fours and sixes were some out-of-the-way kind of land/markers. Off course it was a limited overs match demanding mind-and-skill combination....
The most astonishing thing is that they were six of them all have come back home after writting their engineering semester papers, for summer vacation-cum-industrial training at Steel plant.
Exactly in the same way they used to play at the entrance passage, when we used to stay in three storied smaller apartments in the neighborhood, a decade ago.....
Today morning i saw the worn out ball resting at the shoulder of equally used up bat... Nostalgic memories have brushed ME softly.....
