Black Watch Memorial
The Memorial is in Aberfeldy beside the banks of the River Tay it was unveiled on 14th November 1887 by Gavin..Marquis of Breadalbane, it should have been on the other side of the river, but that side is liable to flooding. The soldier is wearing the old regiment uniform...The memorial cost £500 which was raised by public subscription...that would be quite a lot of money back in 1887
Wade's Bridge is in the background
The Black Watch tartan is dark green & navy & it is one of my favourite tartans..my favourite is the Lindsay..wine & green
