R.I.P. P.N.E.

My team unfortunately were relegated this year to League One (I suppose it sounds better than Division Three which in the old days it would be)

There is a local tradition between the fans of Blackburn Rovers and PNE. If one (or both) team is relegated a coffin is paraded through the streets of Bamber Bridge and buried in the cellar of a pub, i think it is the 'top House' but i may be wrong. When/if the team is promoted the coffin is raised.

This year it takes place on July 24th and there will be collections en route for a local children's charity.

The coffin is presently 'lying in state' in the PNE shop.
