sparrows feeding

ok, there are advantages to working in your kitchen :)

I've been watching a family of sparrows in the garden all morning. There are three chicks and two adults. The Dad came in to check on them earlier as the three kids attempted to eat from the seed & peanuts I put out. However this little girl caught my eye. I have a gorgeous fluffy photo of her, but she has been sitting wanting to be fed for hours...after feeding herself a little the Mum decided to help.

You wouldnt believe how much this little one has put away...after a massive feeding session, she promptly had a power nap just where she was sitting (thank God she didnt slide off the roof) She's just woken up and after a little half-hearted flapping & jumping she's flown off. (probably only onto our roof though...I think we have a little nest just under the tiles again)

Very happy with this photo though :) (even if it is taken through a grubby window)
