Viareggio

A beautiful day, biked along the mountainous coast for the morning, lost a break at noon, fixed it by the afternoon, and coasted into a sunset dinner on the beach behind these mountains in the evening. Still with the guys--we cooked some delicious pasta and camped in the forest after dragging our cycles back out of this sand, singing a few country songs, and contemplating riding on to Pisa through the night. (We didn't!) For the first time, someone noted that we were cycling along a pilgrimage route from London to Rome, passing through this area.
