Conked
Ida's 6 weeks old today. Not quite sure how that came about, what with it really only feeling like a couple of hours ago, but there you go - 6 weeks have gone by and I am left scratching my head, feeling slightly baffled and wondering how the HELL other mothers actually get through the day without screaming their head off at their children.
Like literally, screaming their heads off??? HOW???
It's not easy this multi-children malarky I tell you.
Anyway. In the 6 weeks that Ida's been on this planet I have learned that:
a) there is NEVER enough milk, as far as she's concerned (so long as she's awake)
b) there is NEVER enough opportunity to sleep in other people's arms
c) there is NEVER a good time to put her into her cot-from-arms - therefore she is entitled to scream her head off at you NO MATTER how deep a sleep she was in before she was put in the cot
d) just when you think she will never go to sleep, you put her down to help your boy put his socks on and she's off for a power nap, on her activity mat
e) you can get some really cute socks for girls (displayed here - yes, they are fake mary-jane socks. Cute? You betcha).
That's about it really. Oh and:
f) Magnums really do make everything so much easier. Magnum O'Clock is fast becoming my favourite of all of the o'clocks (apart from sleep o'clock and oh, alright, let's face it - wine o'clock).
