I've posted a picture from here before- similarly blurred, from a taxi- and yet I still haven't actually eaten here. To be fair I was headed to a great little place in the hutongs around the Drum Tower, called Black Sesame Kitchen. They hold cooking classes and also ten-course private dinners for groups. The food was fantastic- pork and pumpkin dumplings, fried shitake mushrooms, pork belly, steamed aubergine, and fried apples with sesame ice cream for pudding, amongst others. I'd highly recommend booking it if you are ever in Beijing. We then headed to one of Beijing's only microbreweries, the Great Leap Brewery, for some excellent ales. It's satisfying hard to find, which somehow makes the beer more deserved...

(No pictures of the food- it went far too quickly and the risk of missing it whilst faffing with camera was far too great.)
