Is that normal?

This is an xray of Seppy. Back in 2003 Seppy found a sewing needle on the floor. What ever made him eat it I don't know. Surprisingly it made its way through his entire digestive track!!! The needle had about 1/2 inch to an inch left to go till he past it completly but it must have turned and it punched through the lining. So with all the exams at the vets it had pushed it all the way through the linning and entered a muscle. We choose not to operated because it would be very hard for them to find this tiny needle within all the layers of the muscle and we were told it would not harm him being in there. Also I think if we did he would not be the same lovable boy he was. I really think this is an interesting xray.
