Meet Judas......
Or at least, I think this is Judas.
On the drive home after work I pass paddocks attached to the freezing works..........one of the many places around the country that prepares lovely wee cute & fluffy spring lambs to present themselves to the world as New Zealand lamb :(
Sheep do what sheep do best....they follow the flock. So when ol' Judas here takes the lead and moves towards 'the ' tunnel of death', the others dutifully follow...............like lambs to the slaughter.
Anyway, on the way home I saw this sheep in the paddock all alone and figured *he must be Judas. *He looked so cute swathed in the late afternoon sunshine so I pulled over, pulled out the camera and stealthily headed over to shoot *him (in the nicest possible way!) I needen't have worried about stealth - by the time I'd shot a few pics we'd introduced ourselves to one another including *him getting - and very much enjoying! - a good head rub or three!! By the time I started to head back to the car I had Judas here running alongside me, angling for 'just one more'! Seems *he's very used to the company of people and in fact, rather likes them! I may have to stop by and say hello to *him again sometime.
In other news - today is the official first day of winter so tonight I lit my fire for the first time this year. N-i-c-e! I don't think I have ever waited this long to light it - testament to the record breakingly mild May we've just had. (PS I just checked out my one-year-ago blip and see that on the 1st June last year I lit the first fire of winter too............so I guess I can only deduce from this that my memory is crap!!!)
* I took photos from the front end and didn't actually check out the rear end. He may be a she!!!
