Oblivious

This is Master B again, set up holding an endearing smile and buttercup. Taken to be printed for a friends-husbands-mother who I've never met but she kindly knitted this number for the little fella. A thank you card is needed, its our favourite.

Had a mega session at the laundrette first thing this morning doing some mega drying. Then onto the motorway with the kids in tow to see my parents. Their house first to help Mum do some emergency garden rescuing followed by a supplies reboot for her at Morrisons. Then down to the Hospice to see Dad.

The staff at the Hospice are flabbergasted with him, he's not the norm. He's been in there for 6 months now (apart from 6 weeks at home earlier in the year) and they say he's having a really tough time compared to the usual pattern of someone dying from terminal cancer. We knew that.

Mum's worried how Miss B coped seeing Dad in pain today. She seems to be handling it ok, relating it to the the paper-cut she got this morning and how she felt she had to make funny noises because of the pain too. She keeps asking about going to heaven and who's going first, then gets jealous if it might not be her!

After a 'stable' 2 weeks Dad's due to go home on Monday. He always said he wanted to die at home, and it might be possible if his care can be sustained by the fleet of carers that's managed to be organised. Thankfully Dads social worker is amazing, it's not just a job for her.

This week Dads sister has been taken home to her house to die too. They've both not left their beds for weeks.

I hope for ease and joy for them both very soon.
