Now and Then

Sun setting on the old Municipal Market today. Comparing it to this picture from yesteryear it's instantly recognisable and I love the story from Marion Goodwyn especially the sprout throwing incident. Good to see Sussex gals haven't changed over the years!

Sadly it appears that the old market may soon be demolished to make way for "more employment floorspace", and 200 "affordable housing units" all in a "net zero carbon" manner! To me that says cheap housing, office blocks and a few free meals for high ranking government employees! I think I'd rather see the space remain as it is and be used for festive fun and artistic endeavours!
