If life is a bowl of cherries...
... why do most pits end up in the dog?
Voila, this evening's haul of cherries from the garden.
With the dry spring we've had, they're early this year. They're not as large as last year's crop, but they have the most intense flavour. I can't stop eating them.
The dog is not there as pretty wallpaper. The sneaky hound is hoping I'll wander off indoors to download my photos and leave the cherries unattended so she can eat all of them. I am not joking. Mia loves cherries almost as much as she loves cheese. She will climb the tree to get to them, but mostly she just waits for them to fall to the ground so she can gobble them up before the birds do. She looks like a footstool these days. It's a wonder the humans at this address get any cherries at all.
It being both cherry and ice cream season, I've got a cunning plan for Cherry-Grand Marnier ice cream.
