Finally - beach weather

It was really cloudy in the morning. I took my son to the local cafe (with geography books) for tea and chocolate cake. An hour later, we came back home and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. After lunch, we headed to the beach. We were there until 5pm. My friend had to go back to Manchester because her son had a golf tournament tomorrow. We decided to go to the local chippy for tea before she set off. An hour and a half after her departure, her husband called to say that the golf tournament had been cancelled and he couldn't get hold of her. Her kids will be really disappointed because they didn't want to go back home.
My girls went out to play and at 8:45pm I went looking for them. I found them playing near the harbour on the pantoons. They love the freedom that they have when they come to Wales. Seeing them play on the pontoon brought back lots of my own childhood memories.
Hubby (back in London) called to say that there is a plant in the garden that has just flowered. We've had it for years and it has never flowered. It also stinks of a dead animal. He's going to call Kew Gardens tomorrow to see if they can identify it.
The forecast for tomorrow is good - another day on the beach before heading back to the big smoke on Saturday.

Just noticed that last year's blip is the same daughter on the same beach
