Paddys Wigwam

Over in Liverpool again today and since i have previously blipped the Anglican Cathedral I thought i would shoot the Catholic one.
I love the fact that the two cathedrals sit at opposite ends of, and are linked by, Hope Street.
Its affectionately known in liverpool as Paddys Wigwam due to the irish builders who built it. The amazing thing is we nearly didnt have this beautiful modern building at all! It was originally going to be a more traditional Lutyens design. It only stopped due to spiralling costs!
