William Wallace - leaning forward with sword in hand. The expression is almost as if it is one of longing. This statue is part of the Wallace Monument at Stirling in Scotland.
..........and no sight today of the Mel Gibson statue which haunted the place for so long. I think it has been removed (didn't look too closely). When it was on display at the foot of the Monument, it had to be locked up in a wire cage at night presumably to stop vandalism or someone stealing it. Rumour had it that the padlock which secured the cage was made in England (ironic perhaps given the gruesome means by which Wallace's life was ended).
Enjoy the weekend blippers.
