guerrilla gardening!

this made me smile - nothing like a well formed butt! - the garden done by those who plant up derelict pieces of land. it's been shown that the community feels better about their environment, & litters less, when sites that have been planted.

gardening scotland - nurseries inside dobbie's flower hall had wonderful plants to buy; outside there was a shocking number of vendors selling tat & stuff only tenuously linked to gardening.
so glad the steward at the entrance told us that in 10 mins' time, @ 3o'clock, the price dropped from £16 (!!!!!!!!!) to £6! so we waited, (my elderly mum couldn't have coped with more than a short visit anyway,) & saved £30!
