Had a nice day wandering around a local Devon Wildlife Trust reserve - Stapleton Mire - 22 acres of paradise! This is a marsh fritillary butterfly, & a bad photograph - but it's wings were still unfolding, only just hatched, plus there was a breeze, it was difficult to get a clear shot & such a pity about the grass blade - BUT! Even though I've seen these beauties before, I've never managed to photograph one, so that's why it had to be my blip! A view of the reserve - need to go back there in a couple of weeks times as it's a great place for marble white butterflies.
Great excitement in the one year old wildlife pond - first frog! Things are looking up!
Spiffing weather & Larry Legs followed me round the garden all day, here he is, relaxing in the sun :)
