Talk .... Don't Talk
This shot was taken inside the Council Chamber in Glasgow City Chambers during our guided tour today. We had a very enthusiastic African guide, who was up to speed with the answers to all our questions.
The green light gives the go ahead for a Councillor to begin their speech, the amber is a warning that they don't have much time left, and red for "stop talking".
Well worth a visit, just to see this palace of marble staircases and the Banqueting Hall. I think my visitors were impressed.
25C on the car thermometer at 5 pm. It was like the Med in Glasgow today. Best to enjoy our one day of Summer 2011.
In other news, #1 is doing the Three Peaks Challenge this weekend, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours. These are the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales. He has just sent a text at 11 pm to say he is at the top of Ben Nevis. A much easier walk up than his last attempt, when he carried a mattress to the top to raise funds for his trip to Africa two years ago. I am praying that they all stay safe. They have a driver who isn't climbing and seem well organised. I will keep you posted on their progress.
Update at 9 am on Saturday 4 June : he's just made it to the top of Scafell Pike.
